Church Humor

“The Church has always been willing to swap off treasures in heaven for cash down.” Robert Green Ingersoll

This may come as a surprise to those who don't live in Las Vegas, but Catholic churches actually outnumber casinos there.

Not surprisingly, some worshippers at Sunday services put casino chips rather than cash into the offering baskets.

Because the churches were getting chips from so many different casinos, they all banded together and devised a method to convert those offerings into cash.

The churches now send all their collected chips to a nearby Franciscan Monastery for sorting; then the chips are taken to the casinos of origin and cashed in.

This is done by the chip monks.

Note: As strain, drain and pain are endemic during the holiday season, this and the next several posts are offered as panaceas for all of us.
