Quote: Blow DeLay Away! End Quote
David J. Phillip, AP
"When a man is in trouble or in a good fight, you want to have your friends around, preferably armed." Tom DeLay
My head is going to explode. It was predictable, we could have seen it coming. But the sight of Tom DeLay at the NRA's annual convention with a big ole rifle in his hands, grinning like the idiot he is, buoyed by the hoots and hollers of NRA members and acting like he's home free -- well, it's just too much for a sane person to bear.
Put me out of my misery. Please. Grab somebody's rifle and shoot me. Unholster somebody's handgun and take me out. Better still, whip out the deer hunter's best friend -an AK47- and Blow DeLay Away!
We've had enough. The man really doesn't deserve any more column inches or sound bite minutes or second chances. He's a liar, a cheat and a crook, a self-righteous, corrupt, lame excuse for a decent human being.
Tom DeLay is being investigated for an appalling number of ethics and possibly criminal violations, everybody with a brain and a shred of political savvy is jumping on the Dump DeLay bandwagon and how does this guy circle his wagons?
He turns to his friends in the NRA. The same people who helped elect him to support their continuing efforts to limit lawsuits against gun manufacturers and to keep assault weapons legal. JEEZUS!
DeLay vindicated by the NRA? From influence peddling? Oh yeah, this is definitely the group we want guiding Tom DeLay's moral compass.
It doesn't get any worse, does it? Well, yes in fact, it does. This is the quote that put me over top. Tom DeLay, praising the NRA's initiative to teach women how to shoot: "If you want to empower women in America, give 'em a gun."
Don't tempt us, Tom. Really.
"The problem isn't easy access to guns, but easy access to oxygen. Certain people shouldn't be breathing." Don Feder, Boston Herald

Nice to know there are good people like you over on your side of the water. Here in the UK we are constantly horrified at the proliferation of guns in the US but unfortunately, like all the worst things from your country, they are increasingly popular here too!
I am an ex-serviceman who abhors weapons of any kind. I took part in the Gulf War of 1991 and belatedly realised the sense in stopping short of full occupation at that time. Your late Secretary of State was then Chief of Staff of the US Armed Forces and made it clear to the Services that occupation was not an option - we would be there for maybe 25 years! Well, just look at what he allowed Bush to do in the end. Shame on him....a good man weakened by politics....he should have stood out against the illegal war at the right time. Instead he has allowed the war criminals Bush and Blair to run amok across a sovereign state, something we went to war for (legitimately) in 1982 over the Falklands invasion.
Keep up the good work. Every head turned away from the insanity of fighting and weapons is a step in the right direction.
