Tammy Faye, Merv, Brooke - Who's Next?
"All interest in disease and death is only another expression of interest in life." Thomas Mann
They say death comes in threes. Usually in categories -- politicians, celebrities, people you know, etc.
First Tammy Faye. Then Merv Griffin. Now poor Brooke Astor.
All celebs of a certain age. All very, very rich.
Merv doesn't seem to belong with Tammy and Brooke. But Tammy certainly doesn't belong with Bergman and Antonioni, who died right behind her.
Wouldn't that be something if they got together and made a movie about Tammy Faye?
If you think all this is creepy, did you know there are societies dedicated to celebrity death? Check out The Death List 2007.
That one's in the UK, but they exist everywhere, including the US. Back in the dark days before the Internet, a friend of a friend used to belong to a mailing list through which people bet on celebrity deaths and dates.
As far as I'm concerned, all these folks need to get a LIFE.
